If someone finds this answer it would be wonderful if they would share it. This is the exact question I need answered.
Central Sequential Fuel Injection (CSFI)
It is under the intake manifold.
The CSFI (Central Sequential Fuel Injection) system calls for 56-62 psi.
If you have the central injection system, you regulator is inside the plenum, next to the spider assembly. Takes about 20 minutes to get to it.
There is 3 types of fuel injection TBI (Throttle Body Injection One Injector) 9 to 13 PSI CMFI (Central Multiport Fuel Injection) 58 to 64 PSI CSEFI (Central Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection) 55 to 61 PSI
Vortex engine? Got me. I thought Vortex was just a brand of supercharger. I believe you mean Vortec engine.. GM also called this the L31 (they use 3 letter/number codes for everything) This system used a SCPI (Sequential Central Port Injection) system... and the fuel pressure regulator is on the central unit, which is INSIDE the intake manifold- you have to remove the upper intake manifold to get at it (plastic part), and the Fuel pressure regulator will be on one side of the central unit where all the fuel lines go to, it has a tube on it open to the intake manifold (to read intake vacuum)
This engine should be CFI (central fuel injection) and the fuel pressure regulator would be under the upper intake manifold, attached to the "spider" (bank of injector poppets). The upper intake manifold needs to be removed to gain access.
constant ? fuel injection CENTRAL SEQUENTIAL FUEL INJECTION (LOOKS LIKE A "SPIDER")
From Drag Times, "Sequential Central Point Injection (SCPI)GM refined the CPI system into a sequential central port injection (SCPI) system in the mid-1990s. It used valves to meter the fuel to just the cylinders that were in the intake phase. " By all acounts, as much use as a cat-flap in a parachute, apparently .
With key on engine not running pressure should be 9 to 13 psi Engine at idle pressure should decrease by 3 to 10 psi on a throttle body. On a multi port injection key on engine not running pressure should be 41 to 47 psi. Engine running at idle pressure should decrease 3 to 10 psi. Central multiport fuel injection key on not running should be 58 to 64 psi. Engine running at idle pressure should decrease 3 to 10 psi. Central sequential electronic fuel injection key on not running pressure should be 55 to 61 psi. Engine running at idle pressure should decrease 3 to 10 psi.
The 1996 Chevrolet Silverado no longer came with throttle body fuel injection. It probably has the central sequential fuel injection system (CSFI) where each cylinder has its own fuel injector.
THERE ARE TWO MOTORS FOR THE 1994 S-10 BLAZER. TBI (Z MOTOR) AND CPI (W MOTOR) Central Port Injection Throttle Body Injection. IF IT'S CPI THEN IT'S UNDER THE INSIDE OF UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD. IF IT'S THE TBI MOTOR THEN IT'S ON THE THROTTLE BODY.
