You can measure speaker impedance with a multimeter set to the ohmmeter setting.

Just place the multimeter probes across the two terminals of the speaker and you'll get the impedance value.

What do Two circuits that are equivalent have the same of?

If the two circuits have the same input impedance they are equivalent in respect of the input impedance.

An opposition to current flow that occurs in alternating current circuits is called?

Capacitive reactance.

How much voltage or current should be applied for impedance measurement to a human body?

Since the objective is to find out the impedance between two points, it is advisable to have a meter that has a high input impedance; the higher the better. This is because when the probes are applied across the "impedance" to be measured, the input impedance of the meter is effectively in parallel with the measured impedance. So, if the input impedance of the meter is infinite, the accuracy of measurement will be 100%. Now, let us take a look at the situation on the human body: If the 2 points for measurement are selected on the same acupuncture meridian, the impedance will be lower than if you select one point on the meridian and one point randomly on the other parts of the body. If you select 2 points (not on any meridian) randomly on the human body, the impedance will even be higher. If you are using electrodes with sticky pads for skin contact, the result will be different from that measured with acupuncture needles puncturing the 2 points. Hope this is helpful. K. Kit Sum.

What is the electrical impedance of air?

Electical impedance of air is just under 377 Ohms. It depends on humidity and other factors. Dry air is close to free space. Scroll down to related links and look at "Characteristic impedance of free space ".

The characteristic impedance of paired copper wire is?

Your speakers will handle 400 watts but start to disort at 200 watts?

The speaker impedance does not match the amplifier's specified speaker impedance.

Effect that wattage will have on a speaker is defined as?

Wattage is the power applied to a speaker. More power usually means more volume. The sound pressure that a speaker will produce will be defined by the power applied, the resistance or impedance of the speaker (a lower impedance speaker will be louder) and the sensitivity of the speaker as a whole (the efficiency to turn the power into sound).

What is rear 8 inch speaker impedance?

The nominal 8 inch speaker impedance can be 4 ohms, 8 ohms or 16 ohms. It depends on the make of the loudspeaker not on the 8 inches.

What does speaker A minimum 4 ohms speaker impedance means?

The speaker you connect to those terminals needs to be 4 ohms or greater.

Do you have high impedance test light?

no

How can you tell if a 4 channel 800 watt car amplifier is 2ohms or 4 ohms?

Your 4 channel amplifier has neither a 4 ohms nor a 8 ohms output impedance. The output impedance will be smaller than 0.5 ohms. In audio we only use amplifier and loudpeaker bridging. Don't believe the myth of matching. Scroll down to related links and look at "Impedance bridging - Wikipedia".

Why do amplifiershave low output impedence?

The objective of a sound system is to obtain good frequency response which is the role of the speaker. If the speaker has high impedance, which would mean many turns of wire in its voice coil, it would reject high frequency notes due to high inductive reactance. A low speaker impedance requires a low output impedance from the amplifier to maximize the energy transfer from the amplifier to the speaker. A drawback to low impedance systems is that the wiring current is higher between the amp and the speaker and long runs will encounter a significant power loss in the resistance of the wire. That is why some amplifiers will have a 70 ohm output so that the current will be lower. Then, a 70 ohm to 8 ohm impedance matching transformer will be located at the speaker.

Will 8 ohm speakers work with 816 ohms of impedance?

yes but will barely hear anything. If you have 816 Ohms of impedance then your speaker is probably bad.

If an amp runs 1000 w rms at 1ohm how do you wire a dual 4 ohm speaker to run at 1 ohm?

the impedance of a speaker is a characteristic that is has. A 4 ohm speaker will always have a 4 ohm impedance and it cannot be changed. If 2 speakers of 4 ohm impedance are wired in parallel, then the total impedance will be 2 ohms. Similarly, if you wire 4 speakers together, the total impedance will be 1 ohm. Wiring a 2 ohm speaker to an amplifier rated to drive a 1 ohm load should work without any problems but expect the total power output to be somewhat lower than with a 1 ohm load.

Can a two wire speaker system with RCA plug be chnaged to a XLR 3 without chnaging the speaker impedance?

If the system supports it, yes.

What is affect of using a 3 ohm speaker with a 100 Watt amplifier?

Amplifier power and impedance are not related, although a lower impedance speaker will be louder. Most home stereos cannot drive loads below 4 ohms, however, so using this 3 ohm speaker with a home theater may cause the amp to go into protection mode or shut down completely. Check your owner's manual to see what impedance of speaker your receiver can safely drive.
