First off check the fuel pump fuse to make sure it is not blown. The best thing to do is just replaced the relay to make sure that is not the problem. If you can hear the pump run with the ignition to the on position, engine not running then it may be good. But it is possible the pump is running and not pumping fuel. A fuel pressure test at the fuel rail will verify the condition of the pump.
No, the fuel pump relay engages and sends voltage to the fuel pump. The fuel pump requires 12 V DC to operate properly. A fuel pressure test will verify the condition of the fuel pump.
Fuel Pump fuse, relay, fuel filter, and all connections. A fuel pressure test will verify a defective fuel pump, or if it is simply not running, and has current to it.Fuel Pump fuse, relay, fuel filter, and all connections. The Fuel Pump Relay and The Fuel Control Relay which are both exactly the same relay is located in the Glove Box under a little cover on the upper left side. The Fuel Control Relay is the left relay and The Fuel Pump Relay is the right. To test these relays, swap them and then try to start the vehicle, or blow the horn. If the horn blows then use that relay for the pump and you may at least drive the vehicle where needed! If the vehicle starts, then replace them as a pair. (between $14.00 - $20.00 at local parts store) Correction, the fuel pump relay is on drivers side and the horn relay is on the passengers side.
Where is the fuel pump fuse and relay on 1994 BMW 525i and how can I test to see why my fuel pump won't work
I believe that you can switch the Horn Relay with the Fuel Pump Relay and if the horn no longer works and the Fuel Pump does then that relay went bad... try that, its a sure fire way to know whats wrong... If it checks out good it might be a Defective Fuel Pump.
Yes, the fuel pump relay turns on and off sending power to the fuel pump as needed. The best to test that relay is to just replace it with a new one. Also make sure and check the fuel pump fuse and replace the fuel filter as it might be clogged.
If the fuse & fuel pump relay are good then more than likely the pump is bad.
pull the fuel pump relay and put it in another location that uses the same relay...like the A/C relay.
Turn key on-jumper relay receptacle pin 1 and 3 this will cause the fuel pump to come on-
YES YOU CAN
casey,figure it out!!
In order to test the fuel pump relay, you must check that the two control circuit terminals on the relay are not connected, using an ohmmeter. You must also test the power circuit terminals on the relay, in the same way.
