This is from the manual I have -

Push down on the outer ring of the pressure regulator. (located at the top & left round knob, of the machine) This will release the pressure on the presser foot.

To increase the pressure, push down inner pin until a suitable pressure is obtained.

Insufficient pressure may cause poor feeding of the fabric, skipped stiches, or difficulty in guiding the fabric. If feed dogs or presser foot marks appear on the fabric, reduce the pressure.

When sewing multiple thickness or heavy fabric, reudce the pressure.

Increase pressure when sewing lighter weight fabrics.

How do you attach a vertical needle zipper foot to a Singer sewing machine?

To do this, you must not only take off your regular presser foot, but take of the part directly above it. You must loosen the presser foot screw, and take everything off below it. Then, look for a part on the zipper foot that hooks around a little. Put that where the original presser foot and the "presser foot holder" was. Then tighten the screw. 1=Loosen the presser foot screw. 2=Remove the presser foot and the part that the presser foot snaps in and out of. 3=Find the hook-like part, the same as on the presser foot holder, and put it where the other one originally was. 4=Tighten the presser foot screw. 5=Put the zipper foot down. It should be a little bit higher than touching the sewing machine. 6=To move the zipper foot from left or right, loosen the screw in the back of the presser foot, and slide the foot from side to side! Then tighten the screw again!

How do you fix a sewing machine?

If you want to replace the needle on your sewing machine, you unscrew the thumbscrew behind and above the needle (with the presser foot down) and remove the old needle. Then hold the new needle under there with the point down and insert it into the slot. The slot is usually half round, half flat so you have to be sure the flat part of the needle matches the flat part of the slot. When it is in there, you just finger tighten the thumbscrew and you are ready to go.

How do you tighten the chain on polaris 400 sportsman 4x4?

If the machine has three chains , you need to tighten the center chain first . You want this chain tight with no slack . There is an eccentric at the front of center chain . Loosen the 2 bolts and rotate the eccentric to tighten the chain . With this tight do the front chain . This you want tight also , with no slack . The back chain needs to be tightened with the rider on machine . When you put weight on the rear of machine it tightenes the chain this is why rider needs to be on machine .There is 2 bolts on the rear eccentric that need to be loosened and then you rotate to tighten or loosen . With the rider on machine you want a half to 1 inch play in the center of chain . With no one on machine the chain will look loose but it is not .

How do you tighten chain on 2001 polaris scrambler 500 2x4?

In the rear end of machine there is an eccentric that adjust the chain . There are 2 bolts that loosen the eccentric .Loosen the two bolts , loosen the brake collar, a large pair of channel lock pliers works well . Be carful with the greese zert in the middle , use the channel lock pliers and rotate the eccentric to tighten chain . With the weight of the normal rider sitting on the machine you want an inch to an inch and a half play up and down in the middle after you adjust it . Tighten the bolts down and tighten the brake collar .
