Theres a pulley tensionor, loosen the bolts to it, pull it tight and retighten bolts, but dont over tighten the belt... there should be alittle play but not much, because if its to tight, it can break, to lose and it will come off, once you tighten tensionor, it should have about a quarter of an inch of play.
The 93 Acclaim has a serpentine belt. The tensioner below the alternator is what keeps the tension. If you have not tension I would replace the belt first and then check the tensioner.
It depends on the year model of the car and the engine that you have.
Just below alternator.
loosen the tensioner assenbly with a 1/2" drive ratchet or a serpentine belt tool and reinstall the belt according to the diagram under the hood
The belt is self adjusted by way of a tensioner.
How do you tighten the serpentine belt on an oldsmobile ciera
usually there is a sticker right inside the frame of the car near the hinge of the hood.
You don't tighten a serpentine belt. The tension is controlled by a tensioner. If it is loose, then the belt has stretched and needs replacing.
Put the serpentine belt around the pulleys on your 2001 Chrysler LHS. Tighten the serpentine belt by pushing the tensioner pulley to the left. Tighten down the tensioner pulley and the serpentine belt will be tight.
Most serpentine belt systems have a self adjusting tensioner.
You do not tighten a serpentine belt. It has a tensioner that keeps it at the correct tension. If it is loose, either the belt is worn and needs replacing or the tensioner is defective.
It uses a spring loaded belt tensioner I believe. The tensioner is automatically set. IF there is not enough tension, then replace the tensioner. The belt may be stretched and need replacment however.
