Try adding salt. You can also add extra tomatoes. Cheese and croutons are some great toppings to the soup that can mask the sweetness of the soup.

the best way i have found to tone down the taste of sage in homemade vegetable soup is to add a little ketchup and sugar.. depending on what your making usually anything sweet will help tone it down. hope this helps.
