In order to deactivate the interior lights, turn the dimmer scroll-wheel either all the way down
This allows for having the doors open and avoid running the battery down.
I was pretty excited when I found this little tidbit in the Owners Manual while waiting for my wife to finish shopping...
But wait!
What if the lights are staying on all the time?
Now that's a different matter... Most likely a result of the very common false door ajar signal problem with this era Ford products.
Luckily the problem is pretty easily fixed.
