If the interior and parking lights are not working on a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder, the first fuses to check would be the interior light fuse. Also check to make sure the light switch is in the right position to allow the interior lights to come on.
check that all doors all closed tight and also that the door handles are not sticking in the "up" position. A little wd-40 fixes them. My lites stay on when thehandles are stuck.
I have the same problem with my 1999. The tail lights as well as the interior instrument panel and the license plate lights are all not working.
Probably one of your door switches. These are the little nipple looking buttons that tell the truck when to turn on the lights (when you open the doors). You should be able to push it shut with your finger and see if there is still voltage going through the switch to tell which one is bad. There is no real short cut for this.
Try turning them off. This is done with the dimmer control of the dash lights.
Which lights? Instrument panel? Dash? Overhead? Ash Tray? Glove box? Also, which model of Corolla?
Has the gauge panel dimmer switch , just to the right of your headlight switch , been turned all the way down ? That will keep your interior lights from coming on when you open the door
you either have a bad door switch, any of them could be bad. or you have the lights physically turned on at the switch.
