Inflatable Restraint (airbag)
Inflatable Restraint... air bag.
I think you mean INF REST light. It means Inflatable Restraint or in simpler terms: you have a problem with you air bag system and it needs to be checked out by a qualified professional only. The system is disabled as long as this light is illuminated.
It has to do with the Air Bag system.it stands for inflatable restraint could be anything from airbag simly being unpluged to a short
yes it will start. The infl. rest lamp is for inflatable restraint (airbag) the light will normally come on (flash) for 5 seconds or so when the key is put in the run position that's the air bag system doing a self check
Inflatable Restraint is a common occurrence. When the light illuminates, a code is stored within the CCM (Central Control Module). The code stored indicates a sensor problem - possibly a faulty sensor ground or faulty sensor or sensors.
The light is on because there is a problem with the SRS. Have it repaired by a pro, and he will turn off the light.
You have electrical problems. Take it to a good garage. My '92 Corsica did that when I put a new bolt on the negative terminal for the battery. I replaced it with the old one and never had the problem again. -xGuiltyFatex = I am not 100% sure its probably your alternator have it checked = = I have a 92 3.1 a few days ago while driving the battery light = and inflatable restrain ( air bag ) lights came on, also the speedometer showed 120 while I was going 50 Km. I pulled into a parking lot and turned off the engine, When I tried to start it did not turn over I boosted the battery, the car started but the battery light remained on. So I changed the alternator, up to now the battery and inflatable restrain lights remain off.
You need to have it checked for codes. If you fix the cause of the codes the light will stay off.
