I believe the process was to turn the car's ignition to "accessory" (where your radio comes on but the car doesn't start, etc.) while holding the little trip meter button on the gauge cluster down. Continue to hold this button down until the light shuts off (about 12 seconds or so.) I could be slightly off on this, though, and you might have to hold the button after turning the car to accessory.
Just fiddle with that until it goes off.
