You can flush a heater core using a few different techniques. The simplest way is to drain the cooling system, then disconnect the hoses from the core at the firewall and run high pressure water through it (a hose will work and poses little risk to the core itself). Another more effective method involves flushing the entire cooling system, which is probably a good idea if the core is stopped up. Look for a flush kit that installs into the heater lines (Prestone makes a decent kit). Drain the cooling system, then attach a garden hose to the T installed in the heater line. Then remove the radiator cap to allow an exit point for the water, otherwise you're only doing the same thing the water pump does. It may be necessary to either run the engine while flushing, or removing the engine's thermostat to ensure the water flows through most of the cooling system. Keep one thing in mind. Due to the design of most heater cores, if the debris in the core is bad enough, it may not be possible to completely flush it. The water will follow the path of least resistance and just flow through passages that aren't blocked.
The hoses to the heater core can be disconnected under the hood. connect a water hose to the core, and try to flush the core to unclog it.
Try flushing the coolant system out
Unhook the two hoses going to the heater core. Use a hose clamp to hook a garden hose onto one of the stems from the core. Turn the water on full blast. Run the water through until clear water comes out.
If the heater core is leaking, the only fix is to replace it. If you are referring to the A/C condenser drain line, then just unclog it.
i had the same problem w/my 97 avenger its a clogged heater core if u take the hose off from the fiewall and use a hose to unclog the heater core u should be all set.also thermostat can be gone id do thermostat then heater core
Remove both hoses, run water both ways through with a garden hose.
Begin by removing the water supply hoses to your heater core. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. The heater core will come out. Reverse the process to install the new heater core.
the heater core, heater core hoses or heater control valve is leaking
Remove the water supply hoses from your 1985 Chevy heater core. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. The heater core will come out. Reverse the process to install your new heater core.
You can access the heater core from the passenger side kick plate in your 1964 Chevrolet Corvette. Remove the heater core water supply hoses. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. The heater core will come out.
The heater coil and a heater core is the same thing. Hot water circulates from the engine and through the heater core then back to engine generating heat for your heater system.
The heater matrix, in a Peugeot 206, can be replaced by removing the heater core and the hoses. With the heater core removed you can replace it with a new heater core.
