Pull up the door lock button next to the door glass.
Lock and unlock the driver door with the remote if the alarm is on because of a disconnected battery.

Using your entry remote, lock and unlock the doors. This happened to me when I had the battery changed. Subaru tech told me to lock and unlock with the remote and it worked.
Two ways; hold the key fob near the dashboard and depress the unlock button for several seconds until the cycling stops ~or~ disconnect the negative lead to the battery again, turn the key in the ignition to the "ON" position (as if the car was running), and then reconnect the battery. This is a security feature on Subarus.
pretty sure you can use the valet key that is tucked up inside the key fob to unlock the door.

There's a signal transmitter inside the key which needs power. Change the battery.
Can you not unlock your door with the key and then pull your inside release etc. ?

This sounds crazy but I think you have to have the drivers door open and hit lock and unlock button 10 times if I remember correctly.
