the center dash contains climate controls, if equipped, and your stock stereo, surrounding the console is a black retainer, the top side of it has the vents for the AC/heater. look directly under the vents and above the controls. there will be two screws that face up. remove and remember to hold on to them! grab the inside of the sides of the black retainer and pull, if it has never been removed before give it a good tug. dont pull it out too far because there are two wire bundles that are attached to your hazard and dimmer buttons. also your cigarette lighter wont let the retainer be removed too far so you will have to disconnect it. place retainer on top of dash or remove all wires and set aside. looking at your stereo there will be a metal bracket that holds the stereo and tray. on each side of the bracket are two screws respectively. remove these screws and set aside where they will not be lost! your stereo and tray should come out still attached to the bracket. the first thing that should be removed is the antenna if i remember correctly it will be "L" shaped. the wires can be removed by depressing a plastic clip on the topside of the plastic bundle. If you're installing an after market stereo i recommend a bridle that is made to connect to the stock bridle and then into your new stereo, probably made by the stereo company. reassemble in reverse. With a new stereo you might be disappointed unless you get new speakers, stock Nissan speakers for that truck are paper cone and distort at high volume
