How do you wire in a trailer brake controller on a 2007 Avalanche?

The easiest way is to pick up a harness extension. I bought mine from the dealer I got the brake controler from. Dealer may have also. Watch out if yours is an 03 as they changed the wiring mid year and you may have to switch a couple of wires. The Avalanche forum has more on this.

No it is not. They changed the wiring in 2007, it is no longer "plug and play".

The connecting outlet is located under the left side of the dash above the emergency brake. You are looking for a plug in outlet that is color coded blue. The connecting pigtail that you can get from any Dodge dealer will also be blue on the end that you are going to plug in. Connect them together and then you are ready to connect the other end to your electric brake controller.

Go where ever you comfortably shop (I got mine and Wal-Mart)and get the best controller you can afford. They all work the same but the higher priced unit are more user friendly. Go home and TOPS!
