Buy a lens cleaner. They do work.
yes. If you touch the lens where the laser comes out it can damage it and not make it not work at all...
The laser lens is a piece of glass above the laser to help it focus on the media (CD/DVD), just like the lens in a pair of glasses help our eyes focus on whatever we are looking at.
This happens when the laser lens ( which reads the disc) needs cleaning as the laser lens picks up dust from the disc. This happens in car cd players due to dust also. There is a laser lens cleaner which you can buy to fix the problem. Scratches on disc can cause stalling also. There maybe other reasons people have found but this has always been the case for me over the years. Hope this helps!
A DVD drive uses a laser and an optical lens to read the surface of the disc itself, which contains several pits that contain data. If the laser hits pits, it is a 1. If not, it is a 0. The laser, containing data, comes back from the mirrored disc surface and into the optical lens, reading the information and therefore changing it into graphics, audio, and useful information.
A DVD-ROM drive has one lens for DVD disk's reading only. Burning lenses are different. But if the drive is a Combo drive then the problem must be with lens so you must clean the lens with DVD LENS CLEANER. If the problem still persists then contact an expert.
dirty laser lens or bluray laser is broken try cleaning the lens with cd/dvd lens cleaner or calling sony on their support line 08705998877 i have the same problem since installing update 3.15. No games or bluray movies worked cleaned laser now got all movies working but only a few games????!!!!!!!!
yes
yes because the cd and the dvd is the same., and it can clean them both.
Yes actually you can, most of the lens cleaning discs are universal, meaning they can be used in CD players, DVD players, game consoles, and blue ray.
Since there is still only one lazer, using a regular DVD cleaner and following the instructions would work the same as if it was a single DVD player.Go to your local electronics store, by a high quality DVD cleaner, follow instructions. I would stay away from compressed air, since that would stir up the dust and could scratch the lens.
Typically a computer cleaning kit includes a spray bottle of antistatic fluid, lint-free wipes, blower brush, retractable keyboard duster brush, CD/DVD laser lens cleaner and a reusable microfiber cleaning cloth.
