How does a receptionist maintain the visitor's register or log book?

A visitor's log is just a simple form. If your company or organization does not have a standardized form, book, or an online log, you can easily create your own. The only reason that a hand written log would be required is when visitors are required to sign the log. Whether you use sheets on a clipboard, a book form, an online or WP spread sheet, each page should have columns with whatever headings your company or organization requires. Whatever they require, the column headings could be:
- Today's Date
- Time In (time visitor arrives)
- Visitor's Name
- Visitor's Company (if applicable)
- Scheduled Appointment Y/N (if applicable)
- Who Visitor Came To See
- Visitor's Signature (if applicable)
- Time Out (if applicable)
The items in bold are all that's needed for a basic visitor's log. The additional items are example of other things an organization may require.
