Even though youv'e given it the name "Yellow", the object is only yellow

when there's some yellow light shining on it. You see, it absorbs all other

colors of light, and only yellow light bounces off of it. That's why the light

from that object that enters your eye is yellow light, and that's why you

describe the object as looking "yellow".

If there's no yellow light shining on the object, it looks black.

What colour would a yellow object look in blue light?

Green

What colour will a yellow object look in red light and why?

It will look red. White light is made up of a spectrum of many colours. The primary colours are red, green and blue. An object (in white light) appears yellow because it reflects red and green light but absorbs blue light. In red light, the same object will simply reflect the red light. Since there is no green light, the object will appear red. (A mixture of red and green gives yellow)

What would a green object look like shone onto a yellow light?

What would a green object look like in a yellow light?

Dark green.A more descriptive answer:It depends on the exact spectra the light emits, not just what it looks to us.If the light combines red and green wavelengths, then the green object will appear green, because of the green wavelength. The object may have a yellowish tinge because of small reflection of the red wavelength. If the light is spectral yellow and not just red + green, then the green object will appear a much darker green maybe with a slight yellow or dark-yellow tinge because of, again, small reflection of dominant yellow wavelength.

What will a yellow object look like when under a yellow light?

An object that appears yellow under white light will have a tendency to maintain its distinctly yellow appearance when bathed in yellow light.

What colour would a green object look under yellow light and why?

If object is white in sunlight what color will it be in green light?

If an object is white in sunlight it will be green in green light. A white object reflects all wavelengths (colors) of light that shine on it. If only green light shines on it, that color will be reflected and the object will look green.

Why does a white object look white in white light?

The object has absorbed light in the whole visible spectrum. For example, an object appearing blue in the white light has absorbed red, orange, yellow, green, indigo, and violet; but the blue light is reflected to your eyes. ==========================================

What does green look like in yellow lights?

A green object is called "green" because that's the only color of light that it reflects to our eyes, while it absorbs any other light. If there's no green light shining on it, then there's nothing for it to reflect, and we would describe it as a "black" object under those conditions.

What colour would a green object look under a red light and why?

A green object would look blaack in a red light because coloured objects absorb all colours except the colour they are, so a green object absorbs 6 colours (red, orange, yellow, blue, indigo, violet) and reflects 1 (green). In this situation, there is no green light to reflect and it can't reflect other colours, so it looks black. :)

What color would a yellow shirt look like when green light shines on it?
