The idea of baking is as old as when man started using stone tools and farming. But how it started as an industry is where it gets interesting. For over years now, scholars and scientists have had records of baking houses to as far ancient Egypt. The baking industry (which primarily focused on baking bread for a certain localized area) flourished well during the span of the reign of the Roman Empire. With people getting an improved state in life in their realm, different forms of bread started becoming made in different parts in the Roman Empire that the demand for these varied pastries became the focal point of the increase of the baking industry. But after the Empire's fall, the baking industry started becoming localized again to the point that having a bakery in a kingdom or village wasn't considered a form of business but rather a form of necessity for the people. But as Kingdoms started becoming powerful and advanced, the need for better living conditions and luxury pleasures such as good food and better lifestyles heightened. Soon, there were more than 2 bakeshops, and soon enough there were too much that it'd be difficult to own a bakeshop without being able to find a way to attract customers. Better qualities of bread and pastry where made. Baking wasn't limited to just bread but other forms of baking arts like baked poultry, meats , and etc. Merchants slowly escalated the business by making bread more efficient and long lasting for long travels abroad on boat or caravan. Biscuits became a soldier's ration throughout diff. countries due to its compactness and long shelf life. Soon enough, bakeshops began competing with one another for best quality and demand. When the 1700's came, countries have made bread and other baking products tradeable with one another furthering the advancement of the baking industry to a massive scale. this continued onwards towards the 18-1900's, where in bread was considered more than just a staple food but as a form of important commodity as water. Now adays, internationally, not all countries have bread as a main staple dish since there are many alternative staple foods such as rice, corn, potatoes, greens, and etc. The baking industry today hasn't slowed down. With many new recipes and delicacies made, baking still plays an important role in not just the baking industry but in restaurants as well. Baking isn't also limited to food since many construction and Metallurgy have depended on baking to form the tools and products that we today use.

Why is baking important that started baking industry?

Baking is important because if it's not cooked enough then it isn't considered done and you can't be finished with a product unless it's done. The Baking industry just wouldn't make money if it was half baked. They have to be baked completely in order to be sold and considered an industry for tax reasons. There are times that some items get half baked but as usual we don't usually rely on half baked ideas, programs, or products.
