There are numerous ways how this destroys athletic programs.
1. Repeated reports of this may cause the county or other local government to cut the funding to the programs.
2. The teams or even schools get kicked out of the league. So they cannot play if the entire team or school is not allowed to compete.
3. If there are enough reports of bullying and hazing, nobody will want to sign up for the teams.
4. Students occasionally die from hazing gone wrong and from suicide attempts brought on from bullying or hazing. So if teams cannot keep players, then that could adversely impact them.
5. Hazed or bullied team members don't perform that well. Their minds are cluttered with what was done to them, and it kills their focus.
