This is a matter of opinion, however the goals of Communism are good.

Communism as has been practiced has been brutal to civil rights, and self-described Communist dictators have been responsible for millions of deaths. However, many would say that this was not Socialism as described by Robert Owen or Communism as decribed by Karl Marx, which relied on the abolition of class and Democratic control of the government and workplace whereas the four most famous dictators who claimed to be Communist (Stalin, Mao, Castro, and Pol Pot) all practiced Stalinism, where Democracy was only allowed within the confines of party rule, the workplace was controlled by the government, and a bureaucracy ruled as a new upper class with a single incredibly powerful leader.

Some critics of Communism grant that those leaders did not practice Communism, but argue that the Communist economies, while a nice idea in theory, are destined to fail because they lack a "profit motive". There has been much debate as to whether the profit motive is or is not a stumbling block to Communism, and the degree to which it is socially constructed or inherent to the human condition. Albert Einstein believed it could be regulated just like any other urge which was harmful to society, such as murder or rape, George Orwell believed that it would drive the leaders of a Communist society to abuse power for their own gain, creating a new class system as harsh as the old one.

Yes. It gave them better healthcare (Cuba has better healthcare than even the USA according to the UN), woman rights and rights for all people really they are a lot better then they were in the previous regime and standard of living was decent for all.

Dont believe the bull crap about everyone equal, it was and never will be true. No communist has ever advocated for equality of people in terms of wages. That would be impossible.

By starving and/or killing the people. Ask the untold millions who starved to death in the Ukraine or simply disappeared under Josef Stalin's purges. Or all of those who were murdered in the Chinese cultural revolution or the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia.

Even on its best days, communism sucks. Have you noticed the lavish lifestyle of our neighbors in Cuba lately? Does anyone think that North Korea is a happy place full of prosperity and freedom?

If you think Capitalism has problems, just imagine turning everything over to the greedy, ineffectual, apathetic and incompetent morons in todays bloated and inefficient government.

While the above is decidedly inflammatory, it hits on fundamental flaws of Communism. In that, it doesn't work.

Communism is a method for implementing a Marxist philosophy. Sadly, the method chosen is a Dictatorship (often referred to as a "dictatorship of the proletariat"). Dictatorships are prone to excesses, as there is no check on their power. In the case of Communism, while the theory is that all people share the means of production and the fruits thereof, the practical imposition of a dictatorship means that a privileged few benefit from everyone else's labor.

In an ideal Communist state, the motto is "From each according to ability, to each according to need." Communism indeed can work in small group settings - mostly at the level of a village or small town, where social pressure and collective governance can avoid the creation of a privileged class. When it works, Communism insures a rather even distribution of wealth and power, making sure that no one receives an out-sized portion of the available goods or services. The result is a rather egalitarian society.

Unfortunately, Communism suffers from several fatal flaws. The two biggest are a systemic (intrinsic to the theory) flaw and an implementation flaw.

The theoretical flaw in Communism is the failure to recognize a feature of human nature: humans at this stage of history are not inherently benevolent as a group. That is, overall, humans will not work beyond the average effort for constant average rewards. More explicitly, if the average human can product 10 items per day at a factory, and receive $10 for their work, an exceptional human who is capable of producing 20 items per day will not do so under Communism, because there is no reward for doing so. Whether they produce 5 or 10 or 20 items, all people will still only get $10. Thus, Communist states suffer from what is known as Tragedy of the Commons, or the Lowest Common Denominator problem, and consistently fall behind other states in terms of technological and industrial output.

The implementation flaw in Communism is the creation of a special privileged class, the Communist Party to "safeguard the revolution". While theoretically merely in charge of maintaining social equality and cooperation inside the state, in reality, it is simply a dictatorial group where all power is concentrated. As there is no check on the power of the Communist Party from within the system, it becomes all-powerful and prone to terrible abuse. It also seems to have a severe problem with allowing cult-of-personality worship, and the corresponding rise of demagogue dictators.

Communism is a classless stateless society, where for the first time the earth’s population will be able to live their own lives, without interference from employers, rulers or governments.
