Inertia deals with an objects reluctance to change its velocity. So if its not moving, you will have to exert a large force to get it to move. But once it is in motion, its inertia helps it move by lowering the breaking effect of resistance.
If you throw a Bowling ball through a grass field, it will go father than a beach ball thrown in a similar manner, because the bowling ball has more inertia!!
Inertia is resistance to changes in velocity. Once you get a car or truck going at a good speed, for example, it's inertia will tend to keep it going at that speed, requiring less fuel. More energy will however be used in overcoming air resistance at that higher speed.
Sometimes we want an object to "stay put". A fence post, for example, is usually able to resist movement because of the mass of earth packed around its base.
Another name for Newton's first law is "the law of inertia."
The unit of Inertia is kg and the Moment of Inertia is kg*m^2
Inertia. Also described in Newton's First law of Motion.
matter is not related to inertia. Mass is.
Force does not affect inertia in general. Inertia can basically be identified with the mass.
The moment of inertia of a hollow cylinder can be calculated with the help of the formula, I=0.5xMxRxR. Here I is inertia, M is mass and R is the radius.
The moment of inertia tells us how easy or how difficult it is to make something rotate.
The inertia of an object is directly proportional to its mass. The greater the mass the greater the inertia and the lower the mass the lower the inertia. This tells us the fat person will have more inertia due to his greater mass and the thin person will have less inertia due to his lower mass.
This is Newton's First Law of Motion. Objects in motion stay in motion because of inertia (refer to the law of inertia for additional help).
it doesn't, in fact it makes it harder. Inertia resists change, so it makes it a bit difficult to get the bike moving.
Inertia.
Inertia is the inability of a body to move from rest or stop/change the motion of a moving object without the help of any external forces.
If the moon suddenly decided to stop pusing forward (inertia), the balance between inertia and the earths gravity would cease and the moon would come crashing into us. :)
its mass helps it behave
There are actually 3 kinds of inertia. They are as follows : 1. Inertia of Rest 2. Inertia of Motion 3. Inertia of Direction But nowadays people consider that there are 2 kinds of inertia , inertia of rest and inertia of motion.
Inertia
It is not equipped with an inertia switch.
