Most lay people have bought into the idea that cutting down trees in the US should be stopped. They feel that trees are being vastly over-cut and we will not have any air left to breathe, all the animals will die, and huge erosion issues will follow. The truth is that in the US forestry is highly regulated. We work on a sustainable yield, which means we will never run out of trees. We will cut a parcel, and then plant two to three times the trees that were harvested. It's in the best interest of the owners, private or commercial to do so. There are now more trees in North America than there were 100 years ago. It's because of logging that this is true. Read that again. It's because of the logging industry this is true. Most of the forests being logged today have been managed since the early 1900's. The animals move all the time to avoid predation. The circle of life works fine in the modern forest. I am in those forests everyday. Animals adapt very well.
This question needs a general answer that addresses the question.
Cutting trees on a large scale such as Amazonian deforestation effects the environment in two main ways, both of which contribute to global warming:
Cutting down trees provides less oxygen for the human race and that also harms the environment and us humans
However it gives room for agriculture and growing valuable crops it also allows space for building homes in which people can live.
In areas that are prone to fire (like where I live) dead trees are considered "fire fuel". We want to remove those trees, so that they don't lend fuel to wildfires.
I will not cut down trees and i will help it

Some trees, not all should be cut down to make things like paper and furniture. A lot of trees should not be cut down to help have clean air, shade, and homes for animals.
