I just did this on a 2006 Escape XLT with the 3.0 litre V6. You have to take the passenger front tire off and remove the outer wheel well (plastic piece that covers the engine on that side). Use a 3/8 drive ratchet (just the end of the ratchet - no socket) in the end of the tentioner to give the old belt some slack. You should be able to squeeze your arm up between the frame and engine to do this. Then just pull off the old belt. There is a diagram of the proper belt routing on the engine cowl by the radiator in case you weren't paying attention as to how it was on before. I'm not a mechanic but I am mechanically inclined and the whole deal took me about 2 hours in the garage- laying on the floor...UGH!
how to replace drive belt on a 2005 ford escape XLT 3.0 V-6
how do you chance a serpentine belt on a 1996 ford escort
Change the belt
Can someone tell me how to install the serpentine belt on a 2006 ford fusion? I need an answer ASAP. Thanks
The way you change the serpentine belt is be decreasing the pressure on the tensioners. There are key pressure points you should press to release the belt.
Have 2008 escape with 105 k. still no need to change. Have Chev s10 with 150k Still original. if drving close to home wait til it breaks.
Just before it breaks
