You need a new blower motor resistor. Just did the job myself and its very easy and cheap to do. Got the resistor from an online parts supplier for about $30. It's located behind the glovebox and if your flexible enough you can replace it without taking the glovebox off. It's located about dead center behind the glovebox, you will see a wiring harness with four wires held in place with 2 screws, just swapped them out and it worked like a dream.
where is speed sensor on 2000 nissan altima What are the procedures on installing a speed sensor on 2000 nissan altima
can you forward me a picture of the speed sensor to a 2006 nissan altima?
If all speeds do not work, suspect the fuse, the switch, the switch connector or the blower motor. If only high speed works, suspect the blower motor speed resistor. If low speeds work and not high, suspect the blower motor relay.
Only for the high speed blower function. The lower speeds go thru the blower motor speed resister.
I HAVE A PO725 CODE IN MY 2005 ALTIMA, WHERE IS THE ENGINE SPEED SENSOR AT,THANKS 2.5
Check the fan Hi-speed relay They use one relay for speeds 1-4 and a separate on for speed 5 or could be hi-speed winding in motor is burned out or could be defective switch
10 megabit 100 megabit 1 gigabit (1000 megabit) these speed ratings are theoretical
Check for 12V at the blower motor connection with ignition on and while selecting all blower speeds with fan switch. If you have power with all speeds at that connection you probably have a bad blower motor. If you don't have power there with any speed selected you probably have a faulty fan switch. If you have power there with only some of the speed selections you probably have a bad speed resister. If you power there at all speeds but high you probably have a bad high speed relay.
If you have no blower speeds at all, first check the fuse. If the fuse is okay I would suspect the blower speed switch and its electrical plug has melted. If the switch checks okay I would suspect the blower motor is bad. If you have high speed only, I would replace the blower motor speed resistor. If you have all lower blower speeds but no high speed, replace the high speed relay.
Well the top speed I got my Altima up to was 120, you need a lot of open road though.
Could be switch Could be low speed relay Could be low speed winding on fan motor Could be fan motor resistor Uses 2 relays (one for High speed and other for lower speeds Motor has 2 windings one for High speed and otheer for lower speeds
If the blower works on slower speeds only I would suspect the high speed blower motor relay (under the hood in the power distribution box) or the switch itself. The blower speed resistor is working if all the slower speeds work.
