So the ultraviolet comes to your skin.You get skin burn.Also you may get skin cancer if you get lots of ultraviolet.I am not trying to scare you I am just telling you that it true that what I wrote.

I think we need a little more clarification here. The first answer was totally correct in that we NEED light to produce the food we eat
BUT more than that humans NEED light to survive. Sure we can survive in the dark but mentally we need light for our emotional and psychological balance. Think of how much better we feel when the sun is shining. The light affects the pineal gland which affects a lot of hormones in the body - too little light (winter northern climes like Canada and Alaska and Russia etc) causes an illness called SAD Seasonal Affective Disorder. When this happens a person becomes depressed and sometimes totally unproductive
