Initially the influenza viruses "hijack" the host's cells to turn them into virus making "factories". The virus enters the cell and changes the DNA of that cell to cause it to work for the virus instead of for your body. After the cell fills up with replicants of the virus, it splits open and releases them to in turn infect new cells and repeat the reproductive process in each of them. The host's cells that are used this way are killed in the process of releasing the virions (virus particles). This is called the Lytic Cycle. For a more in-depth explanation of that cycle, see the related questions below. For more information about the impacts of a viral infection on the body systems, see also the additional questions added in the related questions section.

Males and females.

What type of immune cells are in the Swine Flu?

None. Swine flu is an illness caused by the pathogen known now as swine flu virus, A-H1N1/09 influenza. The illness contains no immune cells, nor does the virus. Your body responds to the presence of the virus with an immune response that sends your own immune cells to the area of your body where the flu virus has invaded. It is your body's immune cells that enter the "fight" and eventually get rid of the virus by constructing the type of immune cells called antibodies that are a perfect fit to inactivate the specific virus so it can no longer cause cell damage and symptoms of the flu. Your body then remembers the antibodies that worked to inactivate the virus so it can use them in the future if you are ever exposed to that virus again.

Do they inject a small dose of the Swine Flu to prevent it?

Yes, they do. This is because the immune system can find the swine flu viruses in your body and inactivate ("kill") them and will then remember how it did that so if you were to ever get exposed to swine flu after that, your body would already know how to fight it.

Can you heal Swine Flu or are you stuck with it for life?

The swine flu is a virus. Viruses cannot be cured by antibiotics, and can only be cured by your body creating antibodies and using white blood cells to fight of the infection. Vaccines are the only other option, which contain harmless forms of the virus in order for antibodies to be made and ready for a real disease. There is no current vaccine for the swine flu, however, which means you have to wait for your body to fight off the infection. In rare cases, death may occur, but you are definitely not stuck with swine flu.
