In Christianity, the Incarnation refers to the second person of the Trinity, the Son, becoming fully human, while maintaining full divinity: Jesus the Christ is both true God and true human. The incarnation is believed necessary for the salvation of humankind.

Therefore, while Christians believe in God as transcendent and totally other, they also believe that he is immanently present and intimately connected to us, collectively and individually. God has become man, so that mankind can become God - really, to be incorporated into Godself.

Along with the belief of God as Trinity, the Incarnation is the belief that most starkly separates Christians from the other Abrahamic, monotheistic religions of Islam and Judaism.

Why are Bethlehem and Rome important to Christians?

In Bethlehem, Christians can pray and focus their attention on the birth of Jesus Christ. This is the incarnation - the belief that Jesus is God made flesh. The experience of being in the place where the incarnation is believed to have happened can have huge spiritual importance for Christians. Religion was very important to the Romans. Within the Roman Empire, Christianity was banned and Christians were punished for many years. Feeding Christians to the lions was seen as entertainment in Ancient Rome.

The Son or Word was so subordinate to the Father that the Son was not God but a creature of God?

AnswerThis was the position of the Arian Christians, who were prominent in the late third to fourth centuries. Some of the Christian emperors of the fourth century seem to have followed Arius and, had their views prevailed, Christians would no doubt hold the same views today.

Different Christian views on believing in God?

Most Christians believe in a Trinity, where God is three beings in one: 1) the Father 1) the Son and 3) the Holy Spirit. These three can be seen as different forms of one God.Some Christians do not believe in a Trinity, and many Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God, but not God Himself.Christians also differ on the nature of God; whether He is a person or a spirit.

Is Jesus a reincarnation of God?

No. To be a reincarnation, He would have had to have assumed humanity at an additional historical point prior to 4 BC. (His best-guess birthdate). Such an occurrence would have been signaled with Biblical prophecy and acknowledgement [which it wasn't because there wasn't one], just as His only incarnation was. During a prior incarnation, He would have conducted God's business and it would have been part of God's plan. The fact is, while there are Old Testament events thought to have been pre-incarnation Christophanies, there is no mention of an incarnation prior to the one in Bethlehem. This allows the conclusion that two incarnations [an incarnation and a reincarnation] were not part of God's plan, while one incarnation was, and, that the Bethlehem incarnation was His only incarnation, and therefore, not a reincarnation.
