i there a switch on a saturn that would cause it not to start Yes the neutral safety switch.
The electrical switch is called the "kickdown" switch or "wot" in old terms
I had the same problem on my 1999 Omega V6. It was looked at by several people and no-one could seem to find the reason for it happening. In the end, I removed the accelerator cable (which includes the kickdown switch for the auto box, located near the bulkhead), and took apart and cleaned the kickdown switch (the small rectangular black box) This solved the problem completely. I would suggest that if cleaning does not work, then the cable (including kickdown switch) be replaced. Hope this helps P.S.
