It is capable of introducing exogenous genes into plant genomes.
T-DNA genes are removed from the Ti plasmid and are replaced with the gene of interest.

Genetic engineering is the artificial transplantation of Heriditary material[genes] of an organism. Genetic engineering is one of the most important field of biology. It has produced such varieties of plants and animals which can fulfill the requirements of food for 1 arge population. Genetic engineering is very important in the diagnosing of heriditary diseases e.g=Haemophilia, colour blindness e.t.c
Genetic engineering is often used in plants (especially plants that provide humans with food) so that the food/fruit/nut/product is bigger, better, and shinier. Genetic engineering can also change the DNA so that a plant can be immune to diseases (or at least fight them) and make them more resilient to heat/drought/cold.
a somatic plant cell can often give rise to a complete plant
Add bacteia genes to crop plants can improve plant species :)
True
In genetic engineering, bacteria is used in altering and replicating the genes that are subsequently introduced into animals or plants.

Genetic Engineering
The study of the animals, plants and some other living organisms for the benefit of mankind, is known as genetic engineering. OR The study of transfer of genes for the benefit of mankind is called genetic engineering
Genetic engineering may enable scientists to create micro-organisms, animals and plants. These are commonly referred to as clones of the originals.

When humans breed animals or plants, they are speeding up evolution to create organisms that are more useful to them. Also, genetic engineering could do the same thing (although I am strongly against genetic engineering and it would take me a long time to explain why). The long and the short of it is "Yes."
An example of modern biotechnology is genetic engineering which is being used in both plants and animals. Possibly the most important aspect of food genetic engineering is to wake people up to taking back responsibility for their lives.
