Depends on how far away you are when they go off.
Basicallu, the guy is in the middle of an explosion. I don't know what caused the explosion, whether it was a plasma or frag grenade.

between 7 and 10 seconds according to the grade of the explosion
Detonation of plastique requires an explosion with high brisance, which means a very high propagation rate (burning rate in meters per second). A grenade would probably not have the required intensity. Even if it did, the disruption of the plastic explosive by the casing of the grenade would likely prevent it from absorbing enough energy, quickly enough, to disrupt its molecular structure and cause an explosion. It is not impossible, but rather improbable at best.A grenade detonator, on the other hand, is a different matter. It might well do the job if separated from the grenade and inserted in the plastique.
a bomb can go off in a number of ways. If it is a grenade, the fuse is lit by the pulling of the pin and ejection of the lever. When the spark reaches the ignitor, a tiny explosion is produced that causes a chain reaction with the gunpowder in the grenade. For one of those bombs with the "Which one should I cut? Red or Blue" wires, I'm not quite sure.
A frag grenade is a sphere shaped grenade and a pineapple grenade is narrow but some what wide, but there is no difference in explosions. I mean, one might go farther when you throw it but who knows.
To use the grenade in Turok for N64, first make sure you have it equipped in your inventory. Then, press the button assigned to the weapon switch to select the grenade. Aim with the control stick and press the attack button to throw it. Be cautious of timing and distance as the explosion can damage you as well.
Indeed it can, but don't be expecting much of a explosion. The water basically cushions the explosion so there's no big bang. ibelieveit would sound like a bass drum

You can use a grenade in outer space because pulling the pin releases an internal combustion spark and since there is no oxygen in space, a grenade will work perfectly fine. Just get the heck out of the way!! The explosion would be immense.
Throw a grenade and jump right above it as it explodes. If you don't jump high enough, damages can range from a full shield depletion to death. Plasma grenades will not be as helpful as they stick to any object and do not produce much of an explosion as frags.
