Why does the moon not rotate as does the earth?

The moon does rotate on its axis as the earth does. The earth rotates once in a day and the moon rotates once in a month ( for those who want to quibble, it's a little more than 27 days ). ADD---the moon rotate at the same speed of the earth, that why we always see the same side of the moon which give the impresion that the moon doesnt rotate but it does!

Stars appear to rotate about a point in the sky Which direction does this point lie in?

No. The earth rotates, not the stars. yelp! stars rotate around the earth gravaltational pull receptic system. The answer to this question is impossible to find because you don't rotate around objects, you revolve around them. So a better question would be "Do stars revolve around the Earth?" The answer to that question is no. Now stars do rotate, but most of them don't revolve around anything. (Some revolve around other stars.)

Do stars spin?

Stars don't spin, but they do move. While the Earth is rotating and revolving at the same time, the stars appear to move clockwise (from the northern hemisphere's point of view) and appear to move diagonally. On top of this, the stars are pure energy, which makes them move back and forth across the night sky. This makes the stars very confusing when monitoring them. so, in short, the stars themselves do not spin, but they do move.Stars do rotate around their axis's, but much slower that planets. The sun for examplerotatesaround it's axis once every 26 days at it's equator. The sunactuallyrotates slower at is poles, taking 34 days to rotate once.

How can you prove if the earth really rotates?

Simply by observing the position of celestial objects such as the sun & stars ! If the Earth didn't rotate, the sun would be in exactly the same position each day, and the side of the planet away from the sun would be frozen ! Additionally, if the earth wasn't rotating, the stars would be in exactly the same places in the night-sky !

Does satellite and rotate mean the same thing?

Not even in the same ballpark. Satellite is a noun, meaning an object which orbits another. Rotate is a verb meaning to turn on an axis. Satellites may rotate, or they may not. The two words are unrelated.
