On average, probably less than half way.
The dipstick tube must be damaged/bent at the base.
first you need to drain the oil then you unbolt the motor mounts and lift the motor up as far as it will go. unbolt oil pan and drop down as far as it will go then reach your hand up and unbolt oil pump drop pump in pan and slide pan out. put new pump in pan and slide pan back in bolt oil pump back up and then put pan back on and bolt motor mounts back up.
The lines do not go to the oil pan.The lines do not go to the oil pan.
if you can not locate the dipstick by looking under the hood go under the vehicle and look for the oil pan right by it is usually the dipstick fallow it up and you found it. Most of the time the dipstick handle is colored yellow or black where it's located under the hood i can not tell you I have seen them all over the place
An oil dipstick may not go completely into its sleeve if it is bent or damaged. It may be designed to only go in one way try turning it 180 degrees and putting it in. Also, if it is not the original dipstick it may be the incorrect size or too long. Other possibilities that come to mind include: a damaged sleeve, foreign material in the sleeve, or part of the oil dipstick has broken off in the sleeve.
YUP !!! Actually, the dip stick rests in the bottom of your oil pan to be able to give an accurate oil level reading....that's why, on the odd occasion, you can't check your oil after just running the vehicle. The oil is still dripping off of the internals, and hasen't reached the pan yet.
The 2002 maxima has a problem with the oil pan rusting out. Replace the oil pan and gasket and it should be good to go
no is no dipstick for it..you add fluid from a small hole on the side pan untill its full..the extra fluid will go out automaticly
You go find one and put it in.
i want to fix a 1995 astro vans oil pan how do i go about that?
The dipstick tube is where you add the transmission fluid. If you are putting it in the same tube, it has to be going into the pan. If you are adding it somewhere else well, there is your answer.
I am just changing it now on mine and upon draining it it showed 3 litres on the pan. When i measured the oil on the dipstick prior to draining it , it showed 1/2 full So there you go.
