Ohio Statute 2923.162 does not give a specific distance- it only says "near". That does not apply to shooting on your own land. However, the Hunting section makes it illegal to hunt or kill an animal with 400 feet of a residence. If you are at least 400 feet away, you should be legal. You should NOT go shoot on property of another person without their permission- that is called trespassing.
