Not without binoculars or a telescope. It's sometimes claimed that the Great Wall can be seen from the Moon, which is utterly ludicrous; at that distance, an object would need to be about 70 miles across to be visible to the unaided eye. The Great Wall is, at its widest, about 30 feet across. From 100 km altitude, the lowest height that's generally considered to be "space," it might just barely be visible under good conditions. Some astronauts orbiting at 80-100 miles have reported seeing it, but most report that it cannot be seen (and in a few cases, it's later been established that the astronauts who thought they saw it were mistaking a river or, in at least one case, the Grand Canal near Beijing for the Great Wall).
It is visible from the moon.
No, most of the original seven wonders don't exist anymore. The only one of the original seven that still exists today are the Pyramids of Egypt. As to what man made construction can be seen from space, I can tell you that it's The Great Wall of China. And the brightest spot on earth as seen from space? Las Vegas. Actually that's a myth. The Great Wall of China is not visible from space (without a telescope/binoculars). If you've seen a photo of it from the ground, it should be obvious that it's far too thin to be visible from space. I've heard that since it was built, sand has piled up on one side of the wall, and this is visible from space. I've just looked on Google Maps. People have tagged 10 places where they say the Great Wall of China is, but I can't find anything that looks like the wall (or the sand on one side of the wall). It's been said that truly, the only man construction seen from space is the green houses concentration near Almeria, south eastern Spain, where they heavily grow vegetables in an intensive manner. You can check it out in google earth, and is nearly distinctable at a 800-1000 miles altitude. To locate, I suggest start at 150 miles heigth. And retract from there. The Great Wall is undistictable at 10 miles height.
no the only thing that can be seen in space is the great wall of china
Great Wall of China.
The entire Great Wall, with all of its branches, is 8,851.8 km or 5,500.3 miles long.
Basically. A wall cloud is a a visible portion of the mesocyclone of a supercell. The mesocyclone is the the rotating part of a supercell that can produce a tornado.
It is visible from the moon.
great wall of china?
no
No, Actually. The Great Wall of China is not visible from space UNLESS you have a telescope, binoculars, etc. Think about it. The wall is only the width of an average free-way in thinner parts.
the great wall of china -sonny
great wall of china
The Great Wall of China
yes, the great wall of china is the only man- made structure visible from space but there are some traces of the forest fires of amzon rainforest also visible.
The Great Wall of China? This is not true. From a low orbit of the earth, many artificial objects are visible on the earth, such as highways, ships, railroads, cities, crops, some buildings and the Great Wall of China. No man-made objects on the other hand, are visible at all after leaving the earth's orbit. NASA says, "The Great Wall can barely be seen from the Shuttle, so it would not be possible to see it from the Moon with the naked eye." From the moon, for example, even the continents are barely visible.
If the question means from space and with the naked eye, then the answer is no. This is a long perpetuated myth.
The Great Wall of Chine
Because its the only man made structure on earth visible from space.
