Yes they did, during the rule of Alexander the Great. He conquered Persia, and led an army into India but most of his soldiers got fever in the jungles so he retreated. When he died the Greek and Macedonian commanders split his empire amongst them and founded the Kingdom of Bactria east of the Caspian sea, in what was north Persia and the Seleucid Empire in south Persia, north-east of Egypt. However Alexander did not ever get as far as China in his campaigns, only as far as west India. The Greeks not the Macedonians had an Asian colony in what now is Afghanistan.
