Every 90000 to 100000 miles or around 150000 km, you should never be bothered with a broken belt on that interval.
i would change it when i change the timing belt, about every 70,000 miles
60k miles
WHEN SHOULD TIMING BELT BE CHANGED ON A 2000 TOYOTA 4RUNNER SR5? talktoenock@comcast.net
Toyota recommends 90,000 miles. unless the water pump goes, this interval is fine.
Toyota 4runner 2005 v6 has the timing chain so don/t need to change
Is it worth it to change if I want to drive it up to 175k miles?
It should last the life of the engine and is normally replaced during an engine overhaul.
Does the 2004 4runner have a timing belt or chain
2012 4runner timing chain or belt
A 2008 4Runner V6 has a CHAIN. The V8 4Runner has a timing BELT.
The timing belts on older Toyota 4Runner models are rated to last approximately 60000 miles. Going to long without changing them can result in a damaged engine.
