It depends on your natural flair and aptitude for it. I did very well at GCSE level without putting any time in, I got 2 A*s. I took A level Eng Lang and Lit and the same did not apply. Due to other life commitments like working 20 hours a week at night, I didn't have time to spare and it cost me - I got B and C grades.

There is a lot to learn, same with any subject, but unlike your GCSEs it will be a lot of content that you haven't done before. If you have a natural flair for English then it will all come naturally to you, but you do still have to put effort in.

If you enjoyed English at school then consider it. One word of warning though: post edcation employment for English graduates is very very competitive. I have since retrained for other jobs twice, so take it into consideration.

What sounds are hard to learn in another language voiced or voiceless?

Voiced or unvoiced sounds are not hard for English speakers because they are common in English. Sounds that we don't have in English are hard to learn when learning another language. For example the digraph - ng - is found in English eg bang. But it is not found in the initial position so this can be hard to master eg: ngalan -- Visayan ( a Filipino Language) ngàrmu -- Tibetan
