it is easy once you get the hang of it. well under the steering wheel there are an assortment of wires coming from the ignition and starter, then you take the red wires and cut them then twist two together, next take the brown wire from the starter and touch it to the ones that you twisted together until it turns over and starts, now you disconnect them all and make sure that you don't touch the live wire otherwise you may feel a slight tingle going through your body (in more specific words a huge amount of electricity surging through your body, most likely could be fatal)...

About $60.00 for the switch. Kind of hard to get to under the car. Need a tool to align center nut in neutral though. For 94 Cougar tool number is 307-351 (T97L-70010-A).
nope, the starter should be right at the bottom of the transmission on the driverside.
it might mean you need to have your transmission replaced, ive got a 2002 cougar 35th and it has 80,000 miles and doesn't do any jerking of any kind
not hard, hard . three bolts, screw, and anut on starter. make sure truck is sucure before getting under it i would hate to hear about someone dying
There are a few different thing s that could be wrong. From easiest to hardest: 1. Loose or corroded battery terminals 2. Loose or bad connection with wires to either starter or solenoid 3. Bad solenoid 4. Bad starter It's hard to tell what's wrong without knowing sounds and other such things.
It could be the battery. If not try tapping the starter with a hammer. Not hard enough to crack the housing but hard enough that it might unstick the starter from the flywheel. If this works you might want to change the starter. If not it would have to be the solenoid.
hello i have a 2000 grand am and the starter died ,and would like to change the starter my self to sins i dont have lots of money . can u please help me in locating it and tell me if it was hard to change or not , thank you aiman
If you are asking about replacing the exterior antenna on the cougar, than just twist it counter clockwise to unscrew it. I am not sure what size thread the antenna has on it, but it shouldn't be too hard to find out, and most replacement antennas come with a few different bolts to use.
On a 98 venture the starter is located in front and just under radiator. Simple to reach and change. I learned the hard way.
No, it is not hard to change a starter on a 2001 VW Passat. However, one should use caution when working on any component of a cars electrical system and also have all necessary tools and parts on hand to make the repair easier.
With a good manual, this is not a difficult job at all. Be sure you have all the right tools and that the vehicle is properly supported before you begin work under it. The starter will have 2 electrical connections, and is held on by 3 or 4 bolts.
Faulty EGR Sensor....I Picked one up on E-Bay for $25 and Installed myself. It's pretty easy
