How have computers changed the world?
Computers brought better ways to store data for more archival possibilities. It also featured technology that would lead to developments such as The Internet and software for editing.
Computers have changed the way books are published in such a way that a book-length publication is now in digital form, consisting of text, images, or both, and produced on, and published through a readable on computers and other electronic devices. Sometimes the equivalent of a conventional printed book.
Computers have changed dramatically over the years since they started. They have become much smaller, much faster, much more powerful and much more flexible. Many new methods of input and output have been introduced and improved. They are much easier to use. Software used on computers has also changed and they now provide many more facilities which can be used more easily. They changed partly because of demand but largely because of technological advances. Home…
How have the components in computers changed over the years so that you can have computers in your homes?
Whatever the answer to that is, the computers are innocent. Computers are the most obedient things ever made, and everything they have ever done was dreamed up, planned out, and financed by people. Computers make the internet possible, including WikiAnswers and Google. Is that for the better? But they also make Spam possible, and viruses, and Nigerian money scams, and identity theft, and lots of bad things. So it's really, "Has what people dreamed up…
Computers have affected people's lives mostly in positive way but also in a few negative ways. Its positive impact includes improved transport, communication, healthcare, entertainment and education. A negative effect is layoffs in the industries due to use of computers for tasks previously accomplished by human workers.
ROM (Read-only memory) is storage used in the older computers. It can not be modified or changed in any way. It is mainly used to distribute firmware. RAM (Random-access memory) is a form of storage data, which most modern computers use. RAM can be bought in strips and slot into computers circuit boards.
The definition of "Mini" and "Frame" computers in terms of processing power and speed etc. has changed over the years. "Main frame" computers are the largest and as of July 2012 some have several thousand central processing units, mini frame computers are smaller and therefore less powerful but are needed where "ordinary" desktops are insufficient such as handling large databases and heavy number crunching in various analysis jobs.
Computers evolve drastically fast. Every year there is much new technology that arises and makes the older technology phase out quickly. Computers have gotten more technically powerful, smaller, and cheaper over time, and have become integrated with most other forms of modern technology, notably communications and control of equipment and other devices.
Major and obvious changes of computers over the last few decades have been improvements in processing speed (this means faster code execution which results in programs performing better), larger memory capacities (which allows more programs to be stored), better graphics, and reduction in size (computers used to be large mainframes that took up entire rooms and now they have become much smaller desktop and laptop computers).
This is a very good question, The very first actual computers made were designed to be programmed manually by swiches and tubes being changed very frequently unlike the most recent computers made which can be programmed by software being proccesed by its very own thinking device (the CPU). Yes we must write this program but the computer can actually conduct proccessing on its own with the CPU with just a few keystrokes or cliks.
The same as today: computing. Applications of computing have changed as price and size of computers have dropped, as more people with different computing needs and wants have been able to get computers. Basic computing applications: Simulation & modeling Accounting Statistics Data storage & lookup etc.
Computers have changed tremendously over the past 30 years. What once filled a room is now found in the cheapest of feature-phones. What once took a roomful of accountants to complete can be calculated quickly and easily using standard software. Computers used to have many switches, codes, and commands that needed to be entered by the operator, who was often the programmer as well. Now, it is all simply clicked on, necessitating few decisions, just…
