The knock sensor are located in the valley between the cylinder heads on V6 and V8 engines V8s have two knock sensors
The 4.8, 5.3 and the 6.0 GM engines require removing the intake manifold to replace a knock sensor.
the knock sensor is located toward the front of the engine block and it"s only used on ohc v6 engines. good luck!
Well, it like this. If the knock sensor is bad and the ignition system does not know this, it will destroy the engine, that all.
The knock sensor for most Nissan V6 engines is located directly under the intake manifold. So to replace it, you have to remove the intake manifold. Good Luck.
LS does not have a knock sensor. GSR does have a knock sensor
Most knock sensors are located in the block on the firewall side. Should be the only sensor with two wires in the block. It will also have a camshaft position sensor as well. Hope that helps. I am not educated on Mazda engines.
If you run your rig with a bad knock sensor the computer will not be able to tell if or when your engine starts to knock (such as a rod knocking). That is if it isn't already cause the sensor is there for insurance. Make sure the sensor is bad and if so have it replaced asap. It is an expensive job cause you have to remove the intake to get to them (some engines have two under the intake). willyray3
The knock sensor detects spark knock or ping.
Ford did not start using knock sensors on the Ford Explorer engines until 1996, when they switched to the EEC-V system.
Where is the knock sensor for a 99 pathfinder
