How internet is bad for children?

Its not all bad, the internet does allot of good things for children. However in 3 aspects there are concerns:-

1. Plagiarism: Children simply copying answers of the internet rather than thinking things out for themselves and learning how to construct a good answer is bad for children and it means they do not learn the skills they will need as an adult (though using the internet for research is a good thing)
2. Safety: The internet comes in to the child's house/room and there are things at the other end of some internet connections that young children should not see and people who may be dangerous for children to have contact with.
3. Exercise: Using the internet is a very sedentary occupation and if taken to extremes will mean that the child will not get out to play with friends and this will likely result in the child being physically unfit/underdeveloped. this also may lead to them having very poor social skill for face to face interaction with other people in later life.

The internet is not necessarily bad for children. It can expose them to things that they aren't ready to deal with yet. They shouldn't wander the net without parental controls in place.

When children spend all their time on the net and don't get enough exercise, it is certainly not good for their health. It can also have a negative affect on school work if they spend time chatting and on Facebook instead of doing their homework.

Like all things moderation and balance is the key.
