How is adultery viewed in Judaism Christianity and Islam?

Answer 1 (Islamic View)Adultery is strictly forbidden and is one of the big sins. Per Islam rules and teachings, no sexual relations (oral sex or intercourse) is allowed per Islam religion outside licit marriage. I believe that the same teachings hold also in Christianity and Judaism although not always socially and traditionally followed.

In Judaism and Christianity, adultery is forbidden as the Eighth Commandment (in some sects of Christianity it is the Seventh Commandment because of the numbering). It is considered a cardinal and abominable sin in both religions. The difference is that most Christians and most Jews live in secular societies where there are no secular laws enforced against adultery and the society is more liberal. Therefore, a number of them do not feel the compunction to follow the religious law, whereas Muslims, who often live in more conservative societies with anti-adultery laws enforced, follow the rule more closely.
