Water energy is produced when you use the movement energy of running water to power a waterwheel. That waterwheel then powers a generator which makes electrical energy. Then the generator transfers that energy to the power station.

Water has gravitational potential energy if it is at a higher elevation (for instance, above sea level). This usually happens as a result of water evaporating, and then raining down at higher elevations.

By using a heat source to boil water.

What is geothermal energy and hydrothermal energy?

Geothermal energy is energy produced using the heat from under the earth.Hydrothermal is energy produced by using the different temperatures of water. Places in the Tropics with warm surface water but also deep cold water are most suitable. Both geothermal and hydrothermal are renewable and clean.

What is the history of using moving water as a source of energy?

the reason for it is because if all our energy runs out we always have water a resource instead not having energy at all.

Should you use hydroelectric energy?

YES!!! It is a clean source of electrical energy. It is produced by the action of falling water. However, in some cases a large dam may have to be constructed, and this is environmentally damaging. However, there is also tidal energy, produced by the action of sea water ebbing and flowing of the tides.

What is the energy source that splits water?

Water can be split into hydrogen and oxygen either:Thermally (water thermo-chemical decomposition) using high grade thermal energy (at temperature preferably above 1000 Co ), orElectrically (water electrolysis) using electrical energy.

What is the original source of hydroelectric energy?

The original source of energy for hydroelectricity is water.

What is the source of energy that the water cycle?

The sun is the source of energy that creates the water cycle.

What is the energy transfer for a steam engine?

The energy source, usually coal is burned. The heat that is produced from this process is then used to boil water which becomes pressurized. The water vapor pressure then moves turbines to translate from kinetic to electric energy.

Is moving water an energy source?

Yes. It is source of mechanical energy.
