When you burn the gas, it explodes, and creates energy.
burn it
energy(fuel), oxygen and heat
Because they convert heat to mechanical energy. In both cases they harnes the heat produced as fuel combusts and convert it to pressureized fluid. That fluid then either pushes a piston or pushes on turbine blades and spins a shaft creating usable mechanical energy. The only difference is where the combustion takes place, inside the engine (gasoline and diesel powere piston and turbines) or externally (wood, coal or other fuel powered steam turbines). Most fuels could be used for both internal and external combustion engines, the difference is if the fuel ever enters the engine itself or if only the steam or other working fluid enters the engine.
False its not possible to convert all heat into work as some of its being used as energy APEX
A fuel is one type of energy source. Fuels usually work by buning in air to produce heat, which then does further work in a turbine or other form of heat engine. When a carbon fuel is burned, the mass of oxygen taken from the air exceeds the mass of fule that has to be stored and/or carried, so using fuel is very attractive, and efficient in terms of mass and volume.
Good question because a huge amount of energy comes out of the condenser. Unfortunately the heat is at a relatively low temperature so it can't really be used for very much except space heating. There is not much demand for space heating round a power plant. Obviously the energy is used to keep the workers warm in the buildings of the power plant but that uses only a tiny fraction of the available energy. Some factories use a system where they have their own power plant to generate the electrical power they need, and the waste heat is piped round the factory to keep the workers warm. This is a very efficient use of the fuel and is called CHP - combined heat and power. When the present glut of fossil fuels expires there will be more incentive to develop ways of using energy more efficiently.
fossil fuels are a type of renewable resources
You cannot destroy or create energy: you can only convert it into other forms For example: fuel into heat energy.
how can heat be turned into chemicals
describe the 5 steps to convert fuel into electrical energy
Flashlights convert electric energy to light energy and heat energy.
We can convert electrical energy into mechanical energy in mixer and grinder. We can convert electrical energy into sound energy in various sound systems. We can convert electrical energy into heat energy in electric water or room heater.
Least what? Anyway, heat energy is in a way the least useful form of energy, because you can normally convert any other energy to heat energy, but if you have heat energy, you can no longer convert all of it back to other forms of energy.
Heat energy is, to an extent, unusable energy. If you have a heat DIFFERENCE, you can convert part of the heat energy - but only part of it - to other kinds of energy. That part, you can of course convert to practically any other type of energy.
steam
Iron wire is a conductor of heat/electricity only and it is impossible to convert heat to electrical energy by using it.
When you light a matchstick, you convert the chemical energy in the matchstick to heat energy. This matchstick when brought in contact with the candle converts the chemical energy in the candle to heat and light energy.Chemical energy turns to light and heat.
