Imperialism in wwi?

Imperialism was basically the tension over colonies. This was a widely recognised reason for starting off WWI. Colonies were places that were taken in to control by other ruling countries. This made countries more powerful and dominant, so this is linked to alliances that were made back then.

What were some to the reasons that world war began?

It depends.... If you mean world war 1 then many people believe Germany to be the reason for that. Nationalism, you'll find, has been linked to Germany for a long time... It actually links back to World War two also, because Hitler determined his country on Nationalism, it was practically the curriculum. When Franz Ferdinand (read up about him) was assassinated, it, in effect, gave Austria an excuse to react harshly. Austria ended up giving the Serbs a very unfair ultimatum, because they knew they would refuse to comply with it... When Austria declared war on Serbia it lead to the domino effect... many countries became involved, it was all to do with agreements , etc. Nationalism lead to Imperialism (when nations that believe themselves to be greater, they in turn feel they have the right to rule over them) So basically it was more the desire to build up an Empire. The two alliances (Triple Entente and the Triple Alliance) were formed based on fear that another (opposing) country would win the war and end up ruling over them. Internationalism is basically the same as Nationalism, except it means when several countries feel they have the right to rule. This was another cause... Militarism and competitiveness when it concerned this... Submarines and naval armies were highly commended. Having safety in numbers was important and it gave confidence. The economies also links as a cause... the worse the state of a country, the more vulnerable the people are to new governments, or just governments who claim they can change the people's lives.... this leads to a rise in power which can be quite bad with the wrong people in it. What was the alliance between Great Britain and Russia and France known as?

The Triple Entente linked the United Kigndom, the French Third Republic, and the Russian Empire in 1907, following the signing of the Anglo-Russian Entente. With agreements from Portugal and Japan, this alliance was a strong opposition to Germany's, Austria-Hungary's, and the Kingdom of Italy's Triple Alliance. In 1914, all three of the Triple Entente entered World War I as Allies against Germany and Austria-Hungary.
