Slavery is very wrong. Is it possible to own another Human? That is what some people thought but it is against what God believes (if you are Religious) or what we personally believe (if you are humanist or non-religious). Slavery is also regarded as very RACIST. If a white man/woman has a black man/woman to do all the jobs and they treat them as dirt, e.g. lower class, then it is regarded as being very RACIST. So that is why Slavery is wrong.

Slavery is a bad thing because it has enslaved people over the years in a bad and harmful way preventing them from doing something that could be very helpful to society, see more at http://bussinessmouse.googlepages.com

Slavery is also good in a way because if their was no slavery then there would be no America. And do you really think that life in Africa was better than life in America. No, it wasn't, at least the slave owners fed the slaves every single day whereas if they were in their small tribes in Africa then they would have to worry about food every day. And they were kept busy on something that kept you active and if you did as you were told then you wouldn't have a really bad life. People on acknowledge slavery for its punishments but it's probably that the slave deserves whatever punishment slave receives. So that is my thoughts on slavery.

The Trans-Atlantic African Slave Trade, as well as all slavery throughout all time periods including modern day slavery, is unethical because it is a blatant human rights violation against children, women, and men.

I totally agree but there is one thing to remeber, you need to think about it slavery to begin with is very disobedient to humans of all types.

Yes, it robs all human beings of discovering our true Self/Divine Self. However, some forms of slavery and certain time periods have been proven to be more horrific than others. By the way, what did you mean by "it is disobedient to humans"?

Slavery is a very interesting topic..

1- Slavery as defined in biblical text is an individual voluntary condition which is tied to a Master to Slave responsibility under the law. A condition which had limitations in the Jubilee

2- The slavery trade was no voluntary, people were sold into slavery against their will and to the profit of the tribal leaders and the traders. Therefore the conditions of that system were not bound up in biblical law.

Where its often the mistaken statement that the American civil war was fought over slavery, nothing could be farther from the truth. The only reason slavery was a topic of that war was due to the necessity the rail road had of cheep labor to construct the transcontinental railroad (see railroad act 1862-63). Some applaud Mr Lincoln's actions of bloody conflict, while others scorn his horrible temper, concluding war was completely unnecessary.

In the end the slavery trade in the United States was eliminated and all slaves freedmen, the South which created the vast food supply for America was destroyed, The railroads acquired their near slave labor for construction of the Eastern corridor, where they earned 16 thousand dollars per track mile laid, according to the railroad act signed by Mr Lincoln (1862), Further he had cause the Immigration of thousands of Chinese to be used as railroad labor to build the Western corridor.

If the point had been to simply outlaw slavery, the United States could have easily done such through a constitutional amendment while the Southern States had seceded. However that was not the point entirely. and the nation erupted into civil war, which caused far more problems that it eventually solved, with stranglehold conditions existing even today, (150 years hence) against the Southern States by the United States.

Why was slavery wrong even though it is found in the bible?

Slavery is considered wrong because it violates the inherent dignity and rights of individuals. While slavery is mentioned in the Bible, many interpret these passages as reflections of historical context rather than moral endorsement. Society's understanding of human rights and equality has evolved since biblical times, leading to the recognition of slavery as a grave moral injustice.

Why did Albert barn say slavery was wrong even though it was found in the Bible?

Most human beings would say that slavery is wrong. Just because something is found in The Bible does not justify it being done. Consider that rape, incest, and murder are also found in the Bible as are most of the wayward ways of mankind.

He believed it was for the greater good to put an end to slavery. He felt slavery was wrong because the Bible said it was wrong, and thus he became the "avenging angel" of all those who were still bound in slavery.
