Hinduism is a polytheistic religion with many gods, but these are also seen as avatars of the three gods, Brahma, Shivna and Vishnu, who in turn form a single godhead. In a somewhat similar fashion, the Holy Trinity of Christianity is three gods in one - God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Ghost. However, Christianity is always regarded as monotheistic.

Is Joseph Smith a member of the godhead?

No, definitely not. To say so would be blasphemy. Joseph Smith is a prophet - similar to Moses, Noah, or Abraham. The Godhead consists only of God the Father, Jesus Christ (the Son of God), and the Holy Spirit.

Are Christians really monotheistic if they believe in the trinity?

It is a continuing matter of debate whether worship of the Holy Trinity is consistent with monotheism. In a similar way, some early Christians objected to prayers being said to saints, resulting in the practice being defined as the veneration, not worship, of saints, and the doctrine that prayers to saints could be for intercession only.If Christians define their religious beliefs as monotheistic, while believing in the Holy Trinity, then the meaning of the word can be adapted to include this usage. After all, monotheism does not convey any form of superiority over polytheism.

What other religions have similar Bibles?

Ummm... Similar to what, exactly? There are different versions of the Bible, in the sense that several Christian groups (and a few non-Christian groups, such as Judaism) differ in what books they consider to be "canon", that is, what books are included in the Bible. Other religions (non-Christians) have their own Holy Scripture, but those are different books, and they are not called "Bible". You would have to make up your own mind as to how "similar" you consider them to be.

How can God and Jesus be the same?

Answer AMuslims believe that they are not the same. God is the Creator, the one and only one God with no partner, no son, no companion, no associate, and no resemblance.Jesus is God prophet to call people to worship God, the one and only one God. Jesus is one of the greatest five God prophets; Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all).Answer BChristians believe that Jesus was their god incarnated, sent to earth on a mission of salvation and extreme sacrifice. The doctrine of the Trinity is a major tenet of some Christian faiths; it basically states that both Jesus and God, along with the Holy Spirit, are the same thing, yet somehow unique. Many other Christian sects, as well as religions which do not hold the Trinity as a correct doctrine of faith, see Jesus as only a prophet sent by God, or that god's representative on earth. Other religions and faiths see Jesus as just one of many people who had the right idea, but were a bit ahead of the times, or as a mere mythological figure.Refer to related question below for more information.Answer COthers believe the are both fictional or fantasy figures created by men.

Do Jews use the same bible Christians use?

No, but they are quite similar. The Christian Old Testament without the Apocrypha contains the same books as the Jewish Bible in a different order and based on a different translation, so some important words are quite different. In addition, the Jewish Books of Daniel and Esther are shorter than their Christian counterparts.

Is belief in trinity rational?

If you believe in Christianity, then belief in the Trinity is quite rational. In a way, the trinity is only an extension of the ancient Egyptians belief that Amun and Ra could be invoked as a single entity- Amun-Ra. Similar examples in other religion show that the belief in a concept of three gods in one is not irrational.
