Discipline procedures in a Montessori school tend to reflect nurturing and sensitivity, stress personal responsibility, and are utilized to maintain an environment of freedom and comfort. Ideally, traditional school discipline measures such as detentions, suspensions, etc., are avoided as teachers deal with issues on an individual basis inside the classroom.
