How is the horn grounded to the steering column on a 98 Toyota Sienna?
I just fixed my horn by remounting the screws holding the horn assembly to the front grille area. So it could be that the ground is through that screw. The horn will not work with that screw removed.
In our 2002 Toyota Sienna, it's behind the felt lined drawer on the bottom left of the steering column.

The fuse box is located under the steering column, the fuse to refer to are the following ECU-IG and PANEL they both require a 10 ampere fuse.
First you have to remove the cover on the steering column. Then locate the mounting screw for the switch. When installing the new switch make sure the alignment is correct.

There are 4 bolts at the bottom of the steering column that tend to get loose after entering and exiting your vehicle. Pulling your self up on the steering wheel puts stress the steering column and causes it to become loose. Have you tried wiggling the steering column while turning the key? If that helps, you probably need to remove a portion of the plastic cover from your steering column to enable you to lube the column lock. That's the thing that keeps the steering from turning if the key is not turned on. If the column lock jams, it can prevent the key from turning.
I wouldn't bother making a steering column, just get a new fork and the steering colum is a part of the fork

Answer: The dealership is correct. The 2001 XJ does not have a steering column locking mechanism.

The lever is located on the bottom of the steering column. If it's not locking, the lever may just be jammed and you just need to wiggle it a bit.
There is a switch above the steering column (underneath the dash) that may need to be replaced. This is not visible from below the steering column. Good luck. Answer It is more likely that your brake fluid is a little low. Top it off and see if the light goes out. Answer I have the same problem with my 2001 Toyota Camry and i change the brakes paad on the problem solve.
