The legislative branch is bicameral, made up of the House of Reps and the Senate. The main job of this branch, also known as Congress, is to write new laws (first starting as a bill). Here is the process of making a law: 1. Bill written by a congressman, 2. Voted upon in an assembly by congress. (must have 2/3 votes to pass) 3. Sent to president to ratify(pass) or veto (deny) 4. If president vetos, than congress can vote again on the bill to override his desision. 5. If 2/3 votes are gotten, bill becomes law. Congress has many other powers, such as making new roads, managing the postal offices, even declaring war.
